The constitution of the Board in SIS consists of a mix of a majority of independent directors together with promoter directors and full time directors and are led by Mr. Ravindra Kishore Sinha, Chairman-cum-Managing Director. The members of the Board have wide ranging and extensive experience in various facets of business operations and their role is to supervise the functioning of the Group management directly and through various committees, apart from approving the overall strategy and direction of the SIS Group’s businesses.

A former Chief Secretary to the Government of Bihar, Mr Kang has held a variety of positions in several government departments ranging from industries to health, welfare and development during his 36-year-long career in the government. He also won the Prime Minister Award for Best Bureaucrat in 2005. He is currently an Independent Director on the Board of Sterlite Energy.

Mr. Singh, a graduate with distinction in Electrical Engineering from BIT Mesra and an MBA from University of Indianapolis, USA possesses extensive experience of working in Indian and Multinational companies in steel, chemical, power and other manufacturing industries besides in consultancy, design, security and other service sectors. He has held global management positions in reputed organizations like SAIL, MECON, Jindal Steel and Praxair. At Praxair, Mr. Singh led the acquisition initiatives where a large number of companies where acquired and integrated.

Mr. Relan, who is an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, is one of the pioneers of the Indian private equity industry. He is currently the Managing Partner at CX Partners. Prior to this, he headed Citibank’’s private equity business since its inception in 1995. Ajay has worked with several financial firms in multiple geographies, starting with Citibank in 1976 and the last being as the CEO of a Citi affiliated brokerage firm, Citicorp Securities & Investments Ltd. He currently serves on the boards of HT Media, Monnet Ispat, NTL Electronics, Thyrocare, Nuclear Healthcare and Micro Abrasives.

Mr. Basu, who is an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, is one of the founding Partners at CX Partners. Prior to this, he was a Director with Citi Venture Capital International (CVCI) and was with Citi’s private equity business for 8 years. During his tenure with CVCI, he worked to identify & invest, manage and exit a large number of companies across a wide spectrum of industries including, IT Enabled Services, Financial Services, Auto, Metals & Mining, Infrastructure, Pharma & Specialty Chemicals, Oil & Gas services, Media and Textiles. He also has several years of Corporate & Investment Banking experience with Citibank. Mr. Basu currently serves on the boards of Sutures India and Matrix Cellular.

Mr A. P. Verma, completed his masters in liberal arts from Patna University in 1975, is a former Deputy Managing Director at State Bank of India, India’s largest commercial bank. During his long career with them spanning 35 years, he held several varied and senior positions including General Manager in the International Banking Group, Dy. Managing Director at GE Mid Corporate Group and Managing Director and CEO at SBI Capital Markets Ltd.

Dr. Ajay Kumar is Member of Parliament from Jamshedpur since 2011 and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Max Neeman International, a Drug Research KPO company, since 2005. Prior to this, he was the President, Operations at Apollo Hospitals. A former IPS officer of 1986 batch, Dr. Ajay Kumar served as the Superintendent of Police in Jamshedpur after which he left the police service and moved to the corporate world. He has over 22 years of experience of managing large business operations with over 12 years in senior management positions with Cummins Diesel and Tata Sons.
